This tree took top honors in this year Taikan-ten. The work is by Masahiko Kimura. What is special about the tree? Good health, good trunk and cortex, a great development of the industry and a great balance in terms of density of foliage and artistic design. Bill Valavanis predicted would win this tree in the garden to see Kimura just before exposure (see Bill’s visit to Taikan-ten “Autumn Bonsai Japan Exploration Part 4”).
