The tour continues Kokufu-ten

bonsai general - 15 views

The Kokufu-ten is known for the quality of its trees and quantity. The annual exhibition usually has about 250 bonsai displays. While large screens contain a tree each medium screens usually contain two trees, and shohin screens include up to 6 small trees – lots of bonsai under the same roof. In recent decades every 10 exhibitions is a double event – two shows back to back, one after the other. For some reason this year’s exhibition, the 88th, it was also a double event, each with 170 screens for a total of more than 400 bonsai.

Visitors enter the exhibition on the ground floor of the museum and start the tour with the largest trees. After visiting two rooms with large trees, visitors take the escalator to the next floor where they are greeted by medium screens. After following these around a corner of the exhibition concludes with bonsai small. Today we will see some of the medium-sized bonsai Kokufu.
