The bonsai museum in the Shinpukuji temple offers several large tosho, or needle juniper. Here are some of my favorites.
Boon and tosho
Many of the needle juniper bonsai are collected. Among the most appreciated features are the dead wood studs – Ibo-jin, or wart-jin, in Japanese -. And lines of thin life with good movement
specimens have formal upright life lines narrow but often have less bumpy jin.

development of pads needle juniper branch takes time. New shoots grow and cut again once or twice a year -. The exact forms are a matter of style
Twin needle trunk juniper
I have not seen many needle junipers developed in the US, but I hope that will change someday.
