Sawara cypress cut dwarf

I’m now a year on a project to develop a dwarf Sawara cypress bonsai nursery stock. Last year I cut silhouette and repotted. I’m doing the same this year.

Before cutback

I removed between one and two inches of foliage.

And I decided more or least one front. To make it easier to appreciate the trunk of the front, a pair of small branches had to go.

I would get the silhouette even smaller to make the trunk look more large in comparison, but that is enough for thinning and reduction this year.
