, I showed a black pine 13- annual exhibition Bay Island Bonsai.
shohin black pine – January 2012
The tree has continued to develop, so I thought I would resubmitted to annual exhibition number 15 BIB . This is what the tree looked like last week.
brought me the tree to a workshop BIB to see if they had the opportunity to clean enough to be shown. Like most branches had been wired in spring (see “shohin Decandling a black pine”) the main task branches bent into place. This is what the tree looked after setting the first branch.
After setting the first branch
Overall I could have added a half dozen cables and plucked a small number of needles down. I will cut longer needles – the outbreaks that were not decandled in spring – just before the show. Here is the tree after wiring.
After wiring – 6.5 “(Pot # 1)
I’m sure you can guess what comes next – the selection pot Here they are. candidates from the pot was demonstrated in two years ago.

he chose their ? favorite This is my
After transplanting -. Pot No. 5
some of the pots were too large (4 and 8) and some too small for the roots (3 and 6) those that fit well, I opted for # 5, a Shinto -. Chinese – pot is maybe 30-40 years old. With some last minute cleaning, moss ground cover and some nut oil pot, I’ll be all ready to go.
