Chiharu Imai garden featured some big pine trees. Some of these were much more developed than others. Seeing the less developed trees with more mature specimens made clear how bonsai can develop and improve over time. The juxtaposition also made clear that Imai can do a great job at both ends of this spectrum.

Some heavy curves have produced a nice silhouette in this young white pine.
Great crust and interesting move will make fun of a tree when the branches are filled in.
