would be difficult to visit the US National Bonsai Exhibition without crashing, or at least spotted, the man who made it possible all this, William N. Valavanis.
William N. Valavanis
contributions Valavanis’ a bonsai in the US they are beyond impressive. Besides giving birth to the National Exhibition US Valavanis established the International Bonsai Arboretum, publishes the International Journal of Bonsai, it takes at least two visits to Japan every year, sells trees, and travels to the US as a teacher and guide (see International Bonsai). It’s a super guy and very much appreciate the work he has done for bonsai. I also appreciate the hospitality during my visit to the exhibition – thanks Bill

is that a bird in there?
Besides seeing super trees nationwide, you can also see a number of excellent people in the National. It was a great opportunity to catch up with people I had not seen in years, and meet people with whom he had corresponded, but not met personally. I was also excited to meet so many readers of this site for the first time – thanks for saying hello
