This was the second tree Kokufu telegraphed for the show shortly before the end of my stay in mid-January 2011. The challenge to work on the juniper it is not so overworked that are controlled and rigid, but to retain that soft undulating sensation in the masses of foliage. And yet … get the masses of foliage where desired. Complicated.
Before wiring. Apologies for the funds in these photos … sometimes do not have time to move things for better decision.
After wiring. The changes were minor; hardening of some areas, reducing the bulging of the right leaf mass, eliminating hanging foliage. As always, the trick is knowing what to adjust and move, and what is right where it is.
