The juniper bonsai is often chosen for its ease of cultivation and resistance to climatic changes and adversity.

Juniper is a tree species belonging to the genus of conifers, the same as pine, fir and cedar. The plant has leaves with a needle, narrow green with a gray-brown trunk that lends itself to be easily transformed into a bonsai version.

The juniper bonsai love the sunny and windy. The plant grows well in full sun, but in the summer it is advisable to place it in partial shade, because the roots are very sensitive to heat, the risk of developing rot. In winter, the juniper bonsai can be left safely outdoors, as long as the vessel is adequately covered with a sheet of fabric or plastic, in order to avoid sudden temperature changes that damage the roots. The latter fear, in fact, both the hot and cold. The juniper bonsai should preferably be placed in the open, so that the night dew can spray the foliage.

The juniper bonsai is grown on a clay soil suitable for bonsai. This type of soil is usually red and very rich in minerals. The potting soil for bonsai can be bought easily in e-commerce. The bonsai should be watered regularly in summer and in winter. In hot weather, however, irrigation should be more frequent. Usually you are watering when the soil is dry. The water must be administered on the surface of the substrate. If the bonsai is grown inside, we must also make some mist on the foliage. To avoid this intervention, it is necessary to equip the vessel with a saucer that always keeps the soil moist.
