I like Engelmann spruce. It reminds me of Ezo spruce, that my teacher had a love affair with Japan and so were a number of them in his collection.

I think fir has a very peaceful feeling, like a snowstorm. It is tempting to look great gnarled trunks with lots of movement for spruce as we do for a lot of conifers, such as juniper or pine, and yet the fir is probably at its best as a way much simpler foot with a trunk narrows more naturally.

The front end moved slightly to the left.

needs some growth, especially in the smaller trunk, but there are plenty of buds up and down the branches and several years will be more complete than it would. spruce bud again very easily on old wood. It is 38 “to the upper jin.
