the Shimpaku below is well known for rebounds visitors. I have included a couple of shots from different angles to provide a better idea of what the tree is like in person. One of these views revealed a surprise.

If you look at the base of the trunk, the tree appears to be floating or supported by narrow corridors. Such a delicate view of the trunk would not have a good front for the tree -. That was a smart decision to select a face that hides the gap
