Bonsai tree care – Root Pruning – Prune the root is trivial intervention in bonsai art. No plant can stay in a container indefinitely without some kind of work from scratch.
Plants are constantly in search of water and nutrient rich material for their roots to grow. On the ground this is no problem, the roots can travel several meters stem for water and nutrients, as in a container the situation is completely different, the roots tend to “settle” an area or container, i.e. they saturate the root container.
In some cases, they come to push the plant up to the edge of the vessel, the large volume of new roots. When this happens, it is considered the limit of the root.
